A bakery to rival the best boulangeries in Paris, Panaderia Rosetta in Roma Norte has lines out the door every morning. While the line is long, it moves fast. The adults loved the cardamom bun and the guava roll. My 6yo liked the Rosetta con cacao and the dulce de leche bun the best. We took ours to go and sat in the park down the street, which was lovely.
I like this place! It's not my favorite of the pastelerías in Mexico that I tried but they have excellent stuff here and the restaurant Rosetta absolutely BLEW ME AWAY so I couldn't not try this place. I liked the guava pastry and the tres leches cake but the tres leches actually wasn't quite as flavorful as I thought it would be. Nevertheless, the textures were excellent and it was super creamy! The guava pastry was flaky and delicious, I wish they had more pastries like that with other flavors too (eg pear, strawberry, fig etc.). This place is famous and tons of people ordered pastries there too so it's definitely worth trying! There are lots of workers so the lines move fast. It's just across the street from Rosetta restaurant so easy to get late night snacks after having a meal there. You can also eat there at the little barstool counters, it's open to the air but on good weather days you could linger. It isn't a big place though so don't expect a lot of space. Even so, would def recommend checking it out!
Quite delicious, I must say. I wish we had more time to come back here and eat more of their food, but ya know how it is when you're traveling: why would you ever go to the same place twice when there are 10000 other places to Whet Your Beak at?! So yeah, we actually ended up coming here twice... BUT!!! The second time was just for some little snakes and whatnot, some donuts. Some pastries. Some bread stuff. It is a Panadería after all. But yeah, I guess I'll just have to go back to Mexico ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Going to Mexico City? Panaderia Rosetta should be on your Foodtinerary! In the Roma Norte area, this is a perfect way to start your day. Best time to arrive is right at opening time (7am) trust me, tables fill up quickly and by 8:30-9am, the line and wait times are longer. There's an indoor counter that you can dine in, but there's also an outdoor dining area which is much better in my opinion. Service is pleasant and very attentive, but the food? It was one of our daily stops while in the area. They have breakfast selections like Chilaquiles and Croque Madame, which are very tasty, but their pan dulce and vienoisserie selections are just as good as you'd get in the states, and even in Europe! Must gets are their Chocolate Concha, Rol de Guayaba, Manzana pastry, and, the Chocolate Ricotta Danish. Definitely a good choice for a breakfast stop if you're not in the mood for anything heavy first thing in the morning. ALOHA!!!!
This place is at the top of my must-visit list for when I return to Mexico City. As an LA native, I've always loved the cheese rolls from Porto's Bakery, but this place surpasses that, which is saying a lot for someone from LA. The bakery items are all fresh and warm, and the wait for a table is definitely worth it. Pro tip: While waiting for your table, grab a coffee and pastry--it comes out faster, and it won't spoil your appetite for brunch because everything is just so delicious.
This place was worth all the hype! So much so that my friends and I went there twice in one day. We were a group of 4 for a breakfast around 9 am, they originally told us 35 minutes for a table but then offered us bar seats shortly after so we didn't end up waiting very long. Both times we ended up sitting at the bar. Super cute to look at all the sweets and packed goods on the wall. I didn't have high expectations for certain sweets since I was ordering with a group of friends and may not have ordered my first choice in a dessert. However, I was blown away by how much I loved each and every one of them. We also got the pork confit sandwich and it was my favorite of the bunch. That being said, don't sleep on the savory items!!! To drink, I tried the carrot juice, mocha latte and a cold lemon verbena tea. All great. My friend got the mint green tea and there were pine nuts in it... heads up if you have an allergy but the pine nuts were a great touch. Service is good, we found it to be especially so in the late afternoon (4 pm) especially since they were less busy. Hernan was the server at the bar and he was really nice. I ended up buying a puerquito tote bag. A little expansive but so cute and great, thick quality. There is also a line for take out, although that can be kind of long in the mornings too. 2 bathrooms and they are pretty nice bathrooms compared to others I've seen in the city. Overall I would definitely come here again whenever I find myself back in CDMX.
Had a fantastic experience at Panaderia Rosetta! This is the cutest pastry shop located in Roma Norte and this is the place to go if you are looking for a light breakfast! Beware this is popular though, I went around 8:30 am on a Saturday and there was a line already! Thankfully it goes by fast! Here is what we ordered: *guava cream cheese roll - omg this was heavenly and I plan to hopefully go back again before my trip is over. One of the best pastries I have had (and I am not the biggest sweet pastry girl) *chocolate concha - they had different flavors of these but we went with pineapple. I think they accidentally gave us the chocolate one but this was also good nonetheless Overall the ambiance here is really cute and has cute tables to sit down. Would very much highly recommend!
packed, popular spot for both tourists and locals, hard to get a spot to dine in. We ordered take out and had our stuff at the stand up bar off to the side. The coffee was great - took a while for the filter and rightly so - it was made very well. The pastries were good - guayaba queso we of course had to get, very tasty but didn't love the ratio of filling to pastry (too much pastry). Also had a cacao croissant (i think) which was pretty good, but on the sweet side.
Guayaba roll: Nice guava jam w I think ricotta? The pastry was so flakey and paired really well. I think this is better than Porto's. Ricotta cacao roll: This was good but the cacao leans more towards milk chocolate than dark which I don't prefer. The ricotta probably only adds to the milky profile I tasted. It pairs really well with the latte though Amaranth & blueberry galleta: This was goooood. Tastes like a granola cookie with dried blueberries. I liked how it wasn't too sweet. Atole de piña: This was so unique! Pineapple, corn, cinnamon are the main notes I get from this drink. Everything blends together well and it's very good on a cold day. It has a slight goopy texture from the corn which I love! Latte: strong coffee and nice foam! Love the latte art
Delicious pastries and clearly well loved. We bought and left as we didn't want to wait for a table. Decor is lovely and rustic. Blueberry focaccia was AMAZING. Scone was moist as well. Honestly, you can't go wrong.
